GHK-Cu (copper tripeptide-1) is a naturally occurring copper-binding peptide studied in laboratory research for its interaction with cellular repair and gene-expression pathways. Research models have examined its role in collagen-synthesis signaling, antioxidant-pathway activity, and tissue-remodeling processes. Supplied as lyophilized material for qualified in-vitro research.

Compound specifications: Lyophilized powder in sealed vials. Purity verified at ≥99% by independent third-party HPLC analysis. Store in a cool, dry environment; refrigerate after reconstitution per standard laboratory protocol.

Handling and storage

Supplied as lyophilized (freeze-dried) material. Store under the conditions printed on the product label and use laboratory handling procedures appropriate to your work. Every vial is labeled with lot information for batch traceability.

Research use notice

Reserved for qualified in-vitro laboratory research only. Not for human consumption, veterinary use, clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic use. Purchasers must be 21 years of age or older and accept the Research Use Only Agreement before ordering.

What is GHK-Cu?

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (GHK), a tripeptide first identified in human plasma in the 1970s. GHK's high affinity for copper ions and its decline with age in circulation — documented in the literature — made the complex a long-running subject of skin, remodeling, and gene-expression research.

Published studies examine GHK-Cu across cell-culture, tissue, and animal models, including work on extracellular-matrix organization and broad gene-expression modulation. It is supplied here as high-purity lyophilized material strictly for qualified research use.

Mechanism of Action — Research Overview

In research models, GHK acts as a copper-delivery and -modulation peptide: it binds Cu(II) with high affinity and is studied for how that complex influences copper-dependent enzymes, antioxidant-pathway markers, and matrix-metalloproteinase/TIMP balance in tissue models.

Gene-expression studies (notably the Broad Institute connectivity-map analyses discussed in the literature) report GHK-associated modulation of a wide panel of genes involved in tissue organization and stress response — a systems-level profile rather than single-target activity.

Research Applications

  • Copper-transport and metallopeptide chemistry research
  • Extracellular-matrix and remodeling-pathway studies
  • Skin and fibroblast research models
  • Gene-expression modulation studies
  • Antioxidant-pathway and stress-response research
