Research overview
Copper-Pep is a copper complex of the three-amino-acid peptide glycine–histidine–lysine. It brings peptide chemistry and metal coordination together, with research examining how a short amino acid sequence binds copper and interacts with its molecular surroundings.
About Copper-Pep
The peptide portion, abbreviated GHK, provides the binding environment for copper. Coordination studies examine the complexes that form in solution and the conditions that influence their stability. Comparing GHK with related sequences also helps researchers investigate how individual amino acid changes affect copper binding.
Published chemical studies have combined visible-light spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance and calorimetry. These methods provide complementary information about the copper environment and the energetics of complex formation. Together, they connect molecular structure with measurable chemical behavior. Read the copper coordination study.
The research also extends to interactions with larger proteins. Work with human serum albumin identified complexes involving GHK, copper and histidine sites on the protein. This adds a further research question: how does copper coordination change when a small peptide becomes part of a more complex molecular environment? Explore the albumin interaction study.
Quality, Purity and Documentation
Review the analytical documentation listed for the selected size. Reports describe the samples identified in them; they do not by themselves confirm that current stock matches those samples. If no matching report is listed, contact Prestige Peptides for documentation before ordering.
Available sizes
Copper-Pep is supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials in 50mg and 100mg formats. Lyophilization removes water under vacuum at low temperature, producing a stable dry preparation suited to controlled laboratory storage and accurate gravimetric preparation of experimental solutions.
Storage and handling
Store lyophilized vials at -20°C or below, protected from light and moisture. Allow sealed vials to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to limit condensation inside the vial. Once opened, handle with clean laboratory technique, minimize exposure to ambient humidity, reseal promptly, and record the lot number in laboratory documentation for traceability.
For qualified in-vitro laboratory research only. Not for human or animal use.
